Terms of Use
Last updated 16 August 2026
These are the rules for using Lumina. They are written plainly rather than in legal language, and they mean what they say.
What Lumina does
You upload study material you already have — slides, a chapter, a photo of notes, a transcript. Lumina sends it to an AI model, which produces notes, flashcards and quiz questions from it. It then schedules those flashcards for review and tracks how well you recall them.
The AI can be wrong
This is the most important thing on this page. The material Lumina generates is produced by an AI model reading your source. It can misread a diagram, misstate a formula, or confidently produce something incorrect. Every study set is a draft to check against your own source, not a verified answer key.
Do not rely on generated material as your only source for an exam, assessment, or anything else that matters. You can edit any notes or cards that are wrong. Lumina is a study aid; the responsibility for what you learn stays with you.
Your material
- You keep ownership of everything you upload and everything generated from it.
- Only upload material you have the right to use. Do not upload someone else's copyrighted textbook or paid course content you are not licensed to share.
- Your material is sent to a third-party AI provider for processing. See the Privacy page for what that means.
Your account
- One person per account. Keep your password to yourself.
- There is currently no password reset. If you lose your password you lose access to that account and its review history. This is a real limitation and it is stated here rather than buried.
- Signups are limited per network connection to stop automated abuse.
Free and paid use
- A new account gets 2 imports in total, so you can judge the quality before paying anything.
- After that, importing needs a paid plan. Plans start at ₹199 for 30 days, and the yearly plan runs for 365 days. Each plan states its own price and length on the pricing page. Every plan is a one-time payment and none of them renew by themselves.
- Reviewing, quizzes, the tutor and your progress are always free, on any plan. Everything you have already imported stays available whether or not you have an active plan.
- Generation capacity is limited and shared. Imports may be temporarily unavailable when the underlying AI service is at capacity. A failed import does not count against your allowance.
What is not allowed
- Creating multiple accounts to get around import limits.
- Automated or bulk use of the import function.
- Uploading material that is illegal, or that you have no right to.
- Attempting to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service or other people's accounts.
Accounts doing any of the above may be suspended without notice or refund.
No guarantee of availability
Lumina is operated by Praneeti Singh, one person, on free and low-cost infrastructure. It may be slow, unavailable, or discontinued. Export your data from Settings if you want a copy you control — the export is a plain file you can read without this app.
Liability
Lumina is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for losses arising from using it, including from incorrect generated material, lost data, or unavailability. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use Lumina after a change means you accept it.
